ABOUT US
Located in the heart land of Pennsylvania, Loyalsock Firewood, inc., has access to abundant resources and have supplied firewood for over 21 years to our customers. In 2005 Loyalsock Firewood Inc. under went new ownership. The new owner would like to continue service to existing patrons and expand to new clients.
Our production process begins by cutting and splitting assorted hardwoods, stacking it into steel racks, and placing it in a dry kiln. Kiln charges are heated to over 215 degrees and maintained for 30-60 hours. This process manufactures firewood with less then 20% moisture content when tested with a prong meter. The kiln drying process virtually eliminates the possibility of transference of harmful insects and plant disease to other regions while it produces firewood that is easy to ignite into a clean hot burning fire.
Advantage of using kiln dried Loyalsock Firewood over seasoned include the following:
- Moisture content is a minimum
- Ash and Creosote by-products are lower
- Insect-disease free
- Short ignition time
- Hotter burning fire
